AND ON ZONING AMENDMENTS
WATCHTOWER AUDIO/VISUAL PRODUCTION CENTER
On July 27, 2022, the Town Board of the Town of Ramapo continued a public hearing at Ramapo Town Hall, 237 Route 59, Suffern 10901 that was originally opened on January 26, 2022, and subsequently continued, to receive public comment on zoning and Comprehensive Plan amendments proposed in connection with a development known as “WATCHTOWER AUDIO/VISUAL PRODUCTION CENTER”, generally located in the vicinity of 155 Sterling Mine Road.
The amendments would: amend the 2004 Comprehensive Plan; amend Chapter 376, Zoning, of the Town Code to (1) add a new Mixed-Use (MU-3) Zoning District; (2) amend the Use Table and Bulk Regulations that would apply to uses allowed in the MU-3 Zoning District, and (3) amend the Town Zoning Map to rezone certain parcels of land from the RSH Zoning District to the MU-3 Zoning District.
The amendments have been posted to the Town’s website at: www.ramapo.org/watchtower.
The proposed zoning amendments, as most recently revised on June 27, 2022, were posted on July 19, 2022. The proposed Comprehensive Plan amendments, last revised January 31, 2022, were posted on July 21, 2022.
Prior to the meeting, the Town Board received GML 239 review comments from the Rockland County Department of Planning, and caused them to be posted to the Town’s website. Having heard all interested members of the public who were present in-person or participating by Zoom and requested an opportunity to be heard, and having received written comments submitted for the hearing, the Town Board closed the public hearing, but gives notice that it will accept written comment on the proposed zoning and Comprehensive Plan amendments until August 3, 2022.
