Planning Board Meeting June 28, 2023 at 8:00 pm - IN-PERSON ONLY!!!
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Town of Ramapo Planning Board will hold a meeting at Ramapo Town Hall, 237 Route 59, Suffern, NY on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 8:00pm.
Planning Board members will attend in-person. Until further notice, applicants, their representatives, and interested members of the public must also attend the meeting in-person. Written comment on matters on the agenda for a public hearing may be submitted to the Planning Board Secretary by mail or email, but must be received no later than 4:00 PM on the date of the hearing. The Planning Board will open public hearings on the following application(s) at 8:00 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, for the purpose of allowing the public to be heard on those matters, and the hearing may thereafter be closed or continued. Links to files containing the applications and supporting documents are available on the Town website using the meeting agenda posted on the Town website.
The proposed development now before the Planning Board was the subject of environmental review by the Town Board, acting as SEQRA Lead Agency, that also included amendments to the Town of Ramapo Comprehensive Plan and amendments to the Town of Ramapo Zoning Code and Zoning Map. The Town Board issued its Lead Agency Findings Statement on November 9, 2022, adopted the zoning and Comprehensive Plan amendments, and subsequently approved a Conceptual Design Special Permit (CDSP). The applications before the Board have been made pursuant to the amended Zoning Code and the CDSP. The environmental review documents are available on the Town of Ramapo's website at www.ramapo.org/watchtower. Those documents, and the application files, are also available for review in the Building Department at Town Hall during normal business hours.
- Application of Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., 1424 Long Meadow Road, Tuxedo Park, New York 10987 for Consideration of Adopting a SEQRA Involved Agency Findings Statement, Final Site Development Plan Approval, and Sketch, Preliminary and Final Subdivision Approval, with respect to: (1) a drawing entitled “Headquarters Project – Ramapo” for a project entitled “World Headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses Audio Video Production Center” showing a proposed new audio/video production center in an integrated working, living and worshiping facility on the 242-acre site and (2) a proposed subdivision plan entitled “Lot Line Consolidation” to consolidate the 293 existing tax lots into one lot. The property in question is located at 155 Sterling Mine Road, Sloatsburg, New York, on the East side of Sterling Mine Road (County Route 72), approximately 177 feet Southeast of Eagle Valley Road (County Route 68); is designated on the Ramapo Tax Map as Section, Block, Lots 38.10-1-10 through 60, 38.13-1-2 through 55, 38.14-1-1 through 76, 38.14-2-1 through 44, 38.14-3-1 through 46, 38.17-1-3 through 11, and 38.18-1-1 through 14; and located in an MU-3 Zone.
Please take notice that this Public Hearing is NOT a “SEQRA hearing” within the meaning of 6 NYCRR 617.9. The SEQRA public hearing and comment period on the DEIS have concluded and the FEIS, which responded to public comment on the DEIS, has been filed. The Board will accept public comment on the applications that are the subject of the Hearing from interested members of the public and involved/interested agencies.
