NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Planning Board of the Town of Ramapo will hold a meeting at Ramapo Town Hall, 237 Route 59, Suffern, NY on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 7:30pm.
Planning Board members will attend in-person. Until further notice, applicants, their representatives, and interested members of the public must also attend the meeting in-person. Written comment on matters on the agenda for a public hearing may be submitted to the Planning Board Secretary by mail or email, but must be received no later than 4:00 PM on the date of the hearing. The Planning Board will open public hearings on the following application(s) at 7:30 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, for the purpose of allowing the public to be heard on those matters, and the hearing may thereafter be closed or continued. Links to files containing the application and supporting documents are available on the Town website using the meeting agenda posted on the Town website. The application file is also available for review in the Building Department at Town Hall during normal business hours.
- Determination of potential environmental impacts pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 617 State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and Site Plan Discussion of a site development plan entitled “Remsen Shul”, proposing a 4,500sf addition in the form of an additional two stories to an existing house of worship on the 0.59-acre lot and add four parking spaces to the existing parking lot.The property in question is located at 211 Remsen Avenue, Monsey, New York on the west side of Remsen Avenue, approximately 450 feet South of Dolson Road, which is known and designated on the Ramapo Tax Map as Section, Block, Lot 56.06-3-43 and is located in an R-15A Zone. The Planning Board classified the proposed action as an Unlisted SEQRA Action on August 27, 2024, and a coordinated review was initiated on September 5, 2024. - Determination of potential environmental impacts pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 617 State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and Site Plan Discussion, with respect to an application of Rabbi Hanoch Teitelbaum, 93-95 Dykstras Way E, Monsey, NY 10952, for approval of a site development plan entitled “Congregation Tamar of Monsey”, proposing an addition to an existing two-family residence with neighborhood house or worship on the 0.55-acre site. The applicant is proposing a 10,081sf addition to the neighborhood house of worship. The property is located at 93-95 Dykstras Way E, Monsey, NY on the east side of Dykstras Way approximately 2532 feet South of Saddle River Road, is designated on the Ramapo Tax Map as Section, Block, Lot 56.20-3-44, and is located in a R-15A Zone. The Planning Board classified the proposed action as an Unlisted SEQRA Action on May 28, 2024, and a coordinated review was initiated on June 6, 2024. The property is located at 12 Buena Vista Avenue, Suffern, New York on the east side of Buena Vista Avenue approximately 250 feet South of Eckerson Road, is designated on the Ramapo Tax Map as Section, Block, Lot 50.14-2-71, and is located in a R-15 Zone. The existing single-family dwelling and driveway will be demolished. The property is located at 250 North Pascack Road, Spring Valley, NY on the east side of Pascack Road approximately 169 feet North of Sherman Drive, is designated on the Ramapo Tax Map as Section, Block, Lot 50.15-4-62, and is located in a R-15 Zone. The Planning Board classified the proposed action as an Unlisted SEQRA Action on August 27, 2024, and a coordinated review was initiated on September 5, 2024. - Determination of potential environmental impacts pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 617 State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), Sketch Plat, Site Plan and Special Use Permit Discussion with respect to an application of Congregation Ramapo Cheder Inc., 667 New Hempstead Road, Spring Valley, New York, 10977, for approval of a subdivision and Site Development plan entitled “Ramapo Cheder”, proposing to subdivide the 30.778-acre site into two lots, with 5.618-acres for school for religious instruction on Lot 1 with the remaining 25.161-acres on Lot 2 remaining residential with the existing abandoned single-family dwelling and accessory structures to remain and one shed to be demolished. This proposed religious school also requires a site plan and special use permit. The property is located at 163 West Maple Avenue, Monsey, NY on the west side of West Maple Avenue approximately 400 feet North of Smolley Drive, is designated on the Ramapo Tax Map as Section, Block, Lot 49.14-1-21, and is located in a R-40 Zone. The Planning Board classified the proposed action as a Type 1 SEQRA Action on September 24, 2024, and a coordinated review was initiated on October 1, 2024.
