Town of Ramapo Launches New Web and Social Media Sites
In an effort to increase transparency and to promote our Town’s various parks and facilities, the Town of Ramapo has launched two new hi-tech and user friendly websites, www.ramapo.org and www.ramapoparks.org The Town’s new social media sites are www.facebook.com/townoframapo on Facebook and @TownofRamapo on Twitter. The Ramapo Parks and Recreation Department social media sites are www.facebook.com/ramapo.parks on Facebook and @RamapoParks on Twitter. You can also find the Town of Ramapo Police Department www.facebook.com/RamapoPD on Facebook and @Ramapo_PD on Twitter.
Some Great Features on the New Ramapo website:
- News alerts and a calendar of meeting dates, times and places for events, committees, town, planning, community design, architectural review and zoning boards
- Contact information for reaching town board members and personnel by phone and hotlinks for contacting them individually via email
- Compliance with the Americans for Disabilities act, which allows a screen reader on the site for the visually impaired
- Town budgets, agendas for upcoming Town board meetings, and minutes of previous Town board meetings and recycling schedules
- Live streaming of Town board meetings, special events and other programming
- The ability for residents to easily pay their property taxes online
- Guidelines for obtaining birth, death and marriage certificates

Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael B. Specht announced the launch of the Town’s new web and social media sites. “The Town’s new website is a tool to inform our residents about how local government works and the many services the Town provides. It is also ADA compliant.”
Deputy Supervisor Brendel Logan-Charles said, “The website will increase transparency and facilitates easy access to Town forms.”
Councilman Michael Rossman said, “The Town of Ramapo offers a large variety of recreational activities and events for our residents. We are very proud to highlight them on our new website.”
Councilman David Wanounou added, “Our board meetings are streamed live on the website to increase transparency and the website is accessible on multiple devices”.
